2009 Results

Following the success of last years inaugural event which saw nearly 60 runners completing the challenging route over 9 Grampian Munro's in near perfect weather conditions, the race will once again take place in 2009. Andy Symonds winning time of 3hrs 26 minutes is the benchmark to which future champions must aspire and Claire Gordon has set the bar at 4hrs 13mins for the ladies. Fine weather meant there were few navigational challenges last year, but more typical Scottish summer weather would mean that participants should be comfortable navigating with a map and compass. The rolling, grassy nature of most of the terrain provides the potential for fast running with the two main descents on reasonably good ground too. The majority of the course avoids the lifts and fence lines of the ski area and with clear visibility there are great views of the Cairngorms, Lochnagar and Beinn a Ghlo. The race is once again included in the Scottish Classic Long Race series.

Members of Braemar Mountain Rescue Team will be helping with race cover on the day and all profits will go to the team.

We hope to see you on the start line in August.
